Fraunhofer ITWM-Unit HPC and SharpReflections GmbH manage technology project with Planio

Fraunhofer ITWMThe Fraunhofer Institute for Technology and Industrial Mathematics ITWM is part of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the largest European institution for the promotion of applied research. The ITWM deals primarily with mathematical methods. They form the basis for the simulation of technical computer processes.

The portfolio of ITWM includes not only research activities, consulting and support services, but also the development of own software products. The Competence Center High Performance Computing and Visualization CC HPC is a department of the institute. The CC HPC develops innovative HPC solutions for the industry and participates in national and international support programs. Major industrial partners are presently coming from the banking and oil sectors. In addition to the development of parallel applications, the development of HPC tools forms a predominant focal activity. This includes the Global Address Space Programming Interface (GPI) and the Fraunhofer Parallel File System (FhGFS).

The spin-off company SharpReflections GmbH of the Fraunhofer Institute works on the seismic software Pre-StackPRO, together with CC HPC.
